ACI Reference Specifications: Unraveling Concrete Specs – This presentation will cover how to properly use reference specifications to enhance project specifications and minimize the amount of specification editing required for a project. Significant changes and Updates to ACI 301 that help specifiers and contractors place more durable and resilient concrete structures will also be presented. - Robert Howell – Professional Development Program Engineer, ACI

ACI Repair Code 562-16 – This talk will introduce ACI 562-16, “Code Requirements for Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures and Commentary; which is the first code produced specifically for the repair of reinforced concrete. Presentation will cover why a repair code is needed; philosophy; challenges; significance of QA program; and how the code can save the owner money. - Gregory Zeisler, Senior Engineer, ACI

Build with Strength Campaign – This presentation will focus on the Build with Strength Coalition and the resources available for building with concrete, including communications collateral, state and local advocacy efforts, and business development, with the ultimate goal of funneling projects through the Concrete Design Center. - Brett Ruffing, Senior Director of Communications & Public Affairs, Building Promotion, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association.

ACI 330.2 R-17 “Guide for the Design and Construction of Concrete Site Paving for Industrial and Trucking Facilities” – This presentation will provide an overview of this new document that provides information useful in designing and building a successful site paving project for heavy duty industrial and trucking facilities. This guide is intended for facilities with heavier design loads, non-standard vehicles, and/or higher volumes of heavy trucks. Examples of such facilities may include warehouses, factories, truck terminals, heavy equipment sales and service distribution centers, and ports. It will assist engineers, contractors, and testing agencies with designing, detailing, constructing, repairing, and inspecting site paving. - Robert Varner, Senior Concrete Materials Engineer, Burns Cooley Dennis

MDOT Red Book Revisions – The 2004 edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction has been replaced with the 2017 edition. Changes that influence concrete will be discussed during this presentation. –Will Crawley, Concrete and Cement Laboratory Supervisor, MDOT
